Nishiawakura Village

We are located in the northeastern corner of Okayama Prefecture, which borders Hyogo and Tottori Prefectures.

About 93% of its area is forested, 90% of the forests are covered in Japanese cedar and cypress plantations, while a well-maintained virgin forest remains.

You will experience heavy snowfall during the winter months. It is a beautiful place where you can appreciate the changing of the colours when one season passes to the next.

The village’s total population is just over 1,300, 15 % of which are people who moved to our community in recent years. This village has many people who root for and support challengers.

What we are trying to do with our forest arts festival can only be realised in Nishiawakura.

“If there are no arts and cultural facilities in the village, let’s create them together.”

This is how everything started, and this idea has taken shape in four months.

We are fortunate to have beautiful forests worthy of staging this event.

We are grateful for such a rich natural environment all around us and for many friends who are genuinely excited about the art event, where everyone is invited to express themselves and immerse themselves in art and nature.

Please come and see the works of art and participate in creative workshops that can only be seen and experienced here in Nishiawakura.
